Here is a Western Medicine scientific doctor against Chinese Medicine, claiming that it's dangerous not to follow Western Medicine, but the only evidence he sites is a case where a child was healed using Chinese Medicine, and he says the child was 'lucky'. I think his concern was heart damage and he should have cited "Timely initiation of treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) has reduced the incidence of coronary artery aneurysms defined from absolute luminal dimensions from 25% to ≈4%."

The problem is that IVIG comes with the possibility of some major side effects:

aseptic meningitis, which is inflammation of the membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord
acute kidney failure, which is more likely to occur in people with kidney disease or who are older than age 65
anaphylaxis, which is a life threatening allergic reaction
hemolytic anemia, which is when the body destroys red blood cells faster than the body can replace them
blood clots, which are more likely to occur in those with heart disease, high blood pressure, or clotting disorders
